I offer targeted one-to-one support for English, EAL, academic writing, and language-based learning barriers

My approach begins with diagnosis. I look at what the student is being asked to do, where the process is breaking down, and what specific skill is missing. That may involve grammar, academic vocabulary, sentence structure, reading comprehension, written expression, task interpretation, or the language demands hidden inside subjects such as science and social studies.

The goal is to give the student tools they can use independently.

I'm a veteran teacher of over 20 years, certified to teach in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I have an EAL training background as well, with TESL certification. I have been teaching children and adults in a variety of settings including online and in person, across subject areas such as English, EAL, Science, Social Studies, Math, Computer Skills, and Customer Service Training. I also offer test preparation including the CAEC (Canadian Academic Equivalency Certificate) and the CELPIP English language exam.

**Please note that these platforms may charge fees, have their pricing in US dollars, and have their own payment structures that are not under my control. Where possible, my rates will be similar to the rates listed below.

Online Tutoring: $35 CAD per single 60 minute session. I use the online classroom, Pencil Spaces for online tutoring sessions.

In Person Tutoring: I can tutor Winnipeg students in person. Please add a $10 travel fee per session to the online rate.

Package Discounts: When packages of 5 or 10 sessions are prepaid, I offer a 5% or 10% discount respectively, on the total package including any applicable travel fees. Long term packages can also be arranged. Please contact me for details and pricing.

I offer a free 30 minute online session to have a short meet and greet, discuss your needs, and make a plan. Please indicate you would like this when you contact me.

This package is designed for homeschooled children in kindergarten through eighth grade and their parents. If you're a homeschooling parent, you understand the struggle of trying to plan and build a program for your child. Without a background in education, understanding the curriculum and planning lessons can be very challenging.

As a veteran teacher, I understand the curriculum and how to effectively plan and build a program for your child. If you are looking for somebody to take over the planning and implementing portion of the homeschooling process for you, I can help.

A single child needs far fewer hours of school per day than they get in the traditional classroom. I recommend 2 to 3 hours per day of instruction for most kids. This should complete the entire curriculum in all 4 major subject areas (Social Studies, Math, English, Language Arts) by June. 

Packages can be customized to fit your needs. Pricing includes preparation, reporting, and instruction time, whether online or in person. 

Rate per day based on 2 hours of instruction: $120 CAD

Rate per day based on 3 hours of instruction: $180 CAD
